At the AGM of Monday 13th November the position of Cricket Chairman was left unfilled. Two candidates have now made themselves available, those being Mr Terry Kavanagh and Mr John Fawcett both of whom have very many years of experience and service to the club. At the outset of my chairmanship and with the club having had a very difficult year it is, I think, vital that members be given the opportunity of selecting from the two candidates he whom you believe can make a start on re-building player numbers, inspire the next generation of young cricketers and ensure that the playing side of the club is put on the road to recovery, this will echo the theme of my year as Club Chairman. The contact details of the candidates are below and I would actively encourage you to speak to them both about their plans for cricket in the forthcoming season before casting your vote.
To vote please text 07968321535 with your name and your choice of candidate, only the result will be disclosed to the candidates, the requirement for your name is to check your qualification to vote. In order to vote you must be a member of the club, this includes life members, vice presidents, committee members, playing members which is to include those juniors who have played senior cricket in past season.
I would encourage all of you to take the time to consider the excellent qualities of both candidates very carefully before you vote. The ballot is open now and will close at midnight on Saturday 25th November after which I will announce the results to the candidates before publishing them on the club’s website and social media.
Best of luck to both candidates.
